A Growing Membership Community
Wisconsin Union Membership Tradition Continues through the Decades
The Wisconsin Union has been a membership organization for more than 90 years, a model that has helped the Union sustain itself without taxpayer dollars as a non-profit organization and be in direct connection with the people it serves to understand what they want and need their Wisconsin Union experiences to be. In many ways, the Wisconsin Union’s story of membership is the story of each of its members, the people who make memories in its spaces.
One Wisconsin Union member said, “My favorite part about being a Union member is the connection I have to campus. The Union is always putting on fantastic events for both the public and members.”
When you become a Wisconsin Union member, you join a community of more than 105,000 members worldwide, connected by a shared love of all things Union. And you receive access to Wisconsin Union spaces, activities and most events. Annual and lifetime members can purchase adult beverages at Union buildings if 21 or over with a valid, government-issued photo ID; reserve meeting rooms for some private, special events for free; and join the members-only Hoofers, a community of people dedicated to exploring the outdoors. Members also receive discounted rates on other fan-favorite Union amenities, such as outdoor equipment rentals, art classes, performing arts tickets, and Wisconsin Union Hotel and Club Suites rooms.
Ninety-four percent of membership dollars are funneled right back into Union programming, which is planned and promoted mostly by student leaders. By purchasing a membership and your other Wisconsin Union purchases, such as food and beverages at Memorial Union, you are writing the history of the Union and helping write its future chapters.
